Micromidas just closed a round of Series A funding for $3.6 million. The company "develops and scales environmentally benign biological and chemical processes that produce valuable chemical and material commodities from waste biomass." Micromidas was one of several companies that participated in the 2008 Green Technology and Entrepreneurship Academy (GTEA) put on by the University of California Davis Center for Entrepreneurship. Congratulations to the team of Micromidas! I hope to hear more good news about our fellow alumni from GTEA.
